NWFP Minister for Excise and Taxation, Liaqat Shabab, has urged the Excise and Taxation Inspectors and other concerned staff to bring positive changes in their attitude towards tax payers and serve them with dedication so that they make no complaint in this regard.

He was addressing the concluding session of four-week long Capacity Building Training Course, especially designed for Inspectors at Staff Training Institute Peshawar on Friday. Secretary Excise and Taxation, Sajid Khan Jadoon, Director STI Gulzeb Khan and other concerned officers were also present on this occasion.

The minister announced 1 per cent incentive on the recovery of 100 per cent target for Inspectors and other associated staff. He also announced upgradation of Inspector posts on this occasion. He said that Excise and Taxation Complex would be established at Hayatabad to facilitate tax payers.

Shabab said that the department had achieved its targets previous year despite poor law and order situation and was trying its best to achieve the same during the current financial year accordingly.

He added that the training course would not only guide the inspectors but also prove helpful in their promotion. Speaking on the occasion, Sajid Khan Jadoon, said that the basic functions of the department was to collect taxes, therefore, the concerned staff were duty bound to have the knowledge of rules and regulations regarding tax system.
